What the 7Sage Group Course Options Look Like 

7Sage offers three live group course options: Fundamentals, Total Prep Intensive (TPI), and Advanced. Here’s how each one works. If you’re looking for a structured learning experience with lots of support, 7Sage’s group classes will be a good fit. While their self-study plan costs a lot less, it is an on-demand experience: requires you to navigate prerecorded video lessons and click-through study materials entirely on your own. Even the Live Sessions that come included with the self-study plan merely scratch the surface of complex topics, and you’re getting a different instructor every time.

Important note: 7Sage classes are different from the drop-in live sessions described above. The live sessions are single-topic sessions open to any self subscriber (including those who enroll in classes). Group classes are a step-by-step comprehensive program with the same small class and instructors throughout.

Group courses take learning to the next level. You stick with a small cohort and the same instructors while working step-by-step through a sequential curriculum. It’s like taking a college class from the highest-ranked instructors who keep things interesting and easy to understand. 

Most learners opt for either the Fundamentals course, which offers 12 personalized instruction sessions, or the Total Prep Intensive, which doubles the number of live learning sessions and includes a regular Study Group where an instructor helps you fine-tune your problem-solving skills. Their third group class option, called Advanced, is a shorter course aimed at high-scoring students who only need a little help refining their test-taking strategies.

Note that starting in May 2026, 7Sage shifted to an access-period enrollment model. Here’s what that means: within your bundled access period, you can attend as many group classes as you need. I like that if you miss a session, you can always make it up later or even go through the whole course again, as long as you’re still within your access window. 

Fundamentals (12 Sessions, about $900)

With the Fundamentals package, you get one 173+ scoring instructor who leads 12 sessions at 30 total instructional hours. This covers the complete Logical Reasoning (LR) and Reading Comprehension (RC) curriculum. Students get a comprehensive study plan, session recordings, access to 7Sage’s analytics and drilling platform, weekly proctored practice tests, and four months of daily drop-in class access.

Fundamentals covers the same core curriculum as TPI but only focuses on building a basic foundation in LR and RC. The typical Fundamentals student is scoring somewhere in the 25th-50th percentile at enrollment. If you’re in the 140s and self-study feels overwhelming, this course provides the structure and clear direction that makes the material manageable.

Total Prep Intensive (24 Sessions, about $1,700)

TPI is the flagship group course that we recommend for most students. It gives you access to every 7Sage resource and the best instructional techniques. Two 173+ scoring instructors co-teach, trading off sections so you get two different expert breakdowns of the same material. 

TPI also adds a weekly instructor-led study group built around curated question sets that get harder as you go, with 60 live instruction hours and eight months of course access.

Advanced (8 Sessions, about $1,200)

Advanced is designed for students already scoring in the low-to-mid 160s who don’t need to work through the entire curriculum. These 16 hours of targeted work spread out across 8 weeks should be a fit if you just need help with high-level strategy, speeding up your testing time, and tackling the hardest question types. 

With four months of full self-study access, you still have all the resources you need for independent review of any topic.

Tutoring Add-On

For an extra $560, you can add three hours of private tutoring to any group course package. You can use them anytime within a year of purchase. 

My tip: save your tutoring hours until after you’ve completed the full course. You’re already getting lots of personalized support during your class sessions. Once you’ve finished the curriculum and you know what your remaining weaknesses are, take advantage of the opportunity for some extra one-on-one reinforcement.

Our Rating of the Live Class Experience 

I sat in on a few TPI sessions, and the instructor felt casual and relatable while clearly knowing his stuff. Sessions run 2.5 hours and cover two to three major topics. Roughly 20% of the time is spent on focused instruction and 80% dedicated to interactive problem-solving, Q&A, and “holistic strategies” that teach you how to approach complex questions. Two instructors trade off sessions, so if one person’s explanation doesn’t click for you, hearing someone else frame that idea differently probably will.

During the Zoom session, you watch both the instructor and a slide presentation that they mark up in real time, which is helpful for visual learners and anyone who struggles with paying attention. My instructor constantly paused to see whether anyone had a question, and his encouraging responses made students feel comfortable speaking up. The small class cohorts of about 15-30 students gave everyone a voice.

He also used the chat as a low-pressure way to keep everyone interacting, like asking quick yes-or-no questions that promoted active learning. No matter what kind of learner you are, this format helps you really think through each problem, rather than slip into passive listening.

In my opinion, the most valuable feature is the weekly study group. Here’s the class rhythm: first, you attend the main session to learn the main ideas for that week. After that, you’ve got a few days to crunch through the homework before attending an instructor-led study group where you work through targeted question sets that increase in difficulty as you go. 

I liked how the chat feature let students constantly throw out answers, guesses, and questions that the instructor seamlessly wove into his explanation. Instead of jumping straight to the answer choices, he modeled how to think through each reading passage by diagramming and labeling each part of the paragraph and reminding students of any applicable logic formulas they’d learned. 

It’s one thing to simply work through challenging practice problems and answer explanations on your own. Having an instructor help you untangle all the places where you got stuck is what makes the difference between simply thinking you understand the question types and actually being prepared to succeed.

While the live sessions give you the most interactive learning experience, for those weeks when you have a scheduling conflict, recordings are available within 24-48 hours. You can also submit questions through “Ask a Tutor” for follow-up. Just know that the most dynamic learning happens within the live Zoom meeting, so regular attendance makes all the difference.

How the Instructors Stack Up

Here’s how 7Sage selects and trains its group course instructors:

Every instructor starts by clearing a 173+ score threshold, but that’s just the entry point. From there, 7Sage pulls candidates from its tutoring team: managers review actual tutoring sessions to identify who can explain clearly and has potential to run a class. Those who make it through do a mock group session in front of senior staff. Once they pass that, they get paired with a mentor before taking on a real cohort.

Barring an emergency, expect the same two instructors throughout the entire course. I found that this leads to a more personal learning experience. An instructor who has been tracking your performance, your specific error patterns, and your progress week by week can give much more specific feedback than a rotating cast.

All instructors draw from Kevin Lin’s teaching philosophy (7Sage’s head of content who scored a perfect 180), which builds from first principles: you’re better off going deep into formal logic, argumentation, and grammar before you start discussing question types. Their LR curriculum takes you through detailed question-type workflows under timed conditions, while the RC curriculum starts with active reading to build a real-time mental map of the passage, followed by structured review and tackling questions. 

Regardless of which instructor you get, you’ll be following this approach of first developing critical thinking and reading skills, then applying those skills to real question types.

What You Get Beyond the Live Sessions

Group course enrollment includes full access to 7Sage’s self-study subscription for your entire access period (four months for Fundamentals and Advanced, eight months for TPI). You’re getting a pretty substantial set of resources, including:

To me, the customized homework is one of the most powerful 7Sage features. Each week, some of your LSAT assignments are pre-selected drills that everyone in the cohort does. This gives you some shared reference points you can cover in class discussions. 

At the same time, you’re also getting personalized question sets generated by the analytics engine based on your unique performance data. Other companies take everyone through the exact same practice exercises, regardless of your strengths and weaknesses. There’s nothing I hate more than busywork, so I appreciated how your practice time goes where you actually need it.

Even after your bundled access period ends, you’ll retain access to class recordings and slides for one year. If you want to log into the self-study platform or attend a drop-in session, you’ll have to renew at the standard monthly rate.

Beyond the price of your 7Sage course, there’s a mandatory $120 per year LawHub Advantage fee that goes to LSAC and is required to access official practice tests. If you qualify for an LSAC fee waiver, you get 50% off all 7Sage group courses, bringing the Fundamentals cost down to about $450 and the TPI 7Sage cost down to about $850. 

For anyone who does well with one-on-one support, you’re better off paying the additional $560 upfront to bundle three hours of private tutoring with your group class package. If you change your mind and decide to add on tutoring later, you’ll pay an extra $100. 

If you’re not satisfied with your course, you can request a full refund (minus a 6% processing fee) up until the second class session. After that point, there’s no refund available, nor does 7Sage offer a score increase guarantee.

Who Should Take a 7Sage Group Course (And Who Shouldn’t) 

The 7Sage live LSAT course is a great fit for:

• Students who need accountability and structure. A set class schedule keeps you on track, and instructors are great at answering your questions live.
• Students scoring between the 25th and 50th percentile at enrollment. The group courses  are built for this student. 
• Anyone who doesn’t do well with self-study. Roughly half of group course enrollees are 7Sage subscribers who tried the self-study option and decided they needed more support. If you prefer clear direction and deadlines, their cohort-based approach should work for you.
• Budget-conscious students comparing live options. 7Sage is more affordable on a per-hour basis than other providers, such as Blueprint, and their instructors are just as credentialed. 
• Students targeting 170+ who already have a strong foundation. The Advanced course focuses on high-level strategies for those who don’t need a comprehensive review.

You might consider another option if:

• You already know exactly what you need to work on. If you can identify your weak question types and want to drill them without sitting through a full curriculum, self-study might save you money and time.
• You can only commit 4-5 hours per week to LSAT prep. The homework isn’t optional if you want to get the value out of the live sessions. If your schedule only supports light engagement, the self-study subscription is the right fit.
• You need more scheduling flexibility. The 7Sage LSAT class schedule is fixed: you meet at the same time every week, no exceptions. This might be a real limitation if you have an unpredictable schedule.
• You want physical prep books as a companion or a score increase guarantee. 7Sage doesn’t offer these features.

7Sage vs Blueprint LSAT Live Course

While Blueprint offers an overall solid course with high instructor standards and top-notch study materials for a few hundred less, they only provide half the live hours as the 7Sage TPI course. 

Where Blueprint shines: they have some of the best video lessons out there, with lots of graphics for visual learners and genuinely engaging content. Their score increase guarantee also gives a little peace of mind.

7Sage vs PowerScore Live Courses

If you’re looking for an LSAT prep course with live instruction, PowerScore is one of the more affordable options. Like 7Sage, PowerScore gives you full access to their self-study program, but they don’t offer many unique features that set them apart. 

My take: PowerScore is a basic LSAT prep option, while 7Sage’s customized assignments and small class sizes mean you’re getting a far more comprehensive program.

7Sage vs Kaplan LSAT Class

Kaplan and 7Sage are both high-quality options that hire only the highest scoring instructors. Both companies use a two-instructor approach with really thorough content coverage. Choose Kaplan for the wealth of resources, hardcopy prep books, backing of a test prep giant, and a score guarantee. 

Otherwise, 7Sage goes deeper with their instructor-led study sessions that are all about building strong problem-solving skills. You get over twice as many live instruction hours and personalized homework for just $200 more, making it a strong value option.

7Sage vs Princeton Review LSAT Live Course

Princeton Review is known for their in-depth curriculum and detailed study materials. The redesigned interface connects you to great progress tracking tools, and you can access your instructors outside of live sessions for additional support.

I found the 7Sage sessions and on-demand videos to be more engaging than Princeton Review’s course. Princeton Review has a strong reputation and solid curriculum, but 7Sage’s instructor pipeline is more rigorous and you get significantly more live instruction hours.

Across Reddit, Trustpilot, and 7Sage’s own review page, a few clear patterns emerge. Students generally like the instructors, praising their teaching ability and quick responses. They also appreciate the co-teaching dynamic; hearing the same concept explained two different ways actually does help concepts make sense. Finally, past students share that the drilling tools, analytics, and “Ask a Tutor” feature were genuinely helpful. This overall matched what I saw firsthand during my own sessions.

On the flip side, common criticisms include the rigid schedule commitment, heavy homework load, and narrow refund window. They warn about the dangers of falling behind on practice work, saying it’s hard to catch up afterwards.

One important note on reading online reviews: pay attention to whether someone is describing 7Sage’s drop-in Live Sessions (offered with self-study subscription) rather than the group courses (focus of this article). If a 7Sage LSAT review mentions one-off topic sessions or highly variable session quality from week to week, it’s probably not describing the group course. 

Verdict: Is the 7Sage LSAT Group Course Worth It?

So is 7Sage worth it? In my opinion, yes: 7Sage is one of the best live courses out there for anyone wanting structured, interactive LSAT prep. 

Their 99th percentile instructors know how to connect with students, and the same ones stick with you throughout the course. Combine that with an in-depth curriculum that emphasizes logic and a bundled platform that uses personalized analytics to streamline your studying, and you’re getting all the resources you need at a decent price.

The key trade-offs are that 7Sage doesn’t offer a score guarantee, and the fixed schedule can be limiting. But if you can make the time for it, 7Sage delivers. Students from a recent 2026 cohort saw a median 12-point score increase if they attended all sessions, and 14 points if they also completed at least half the homework.

If you’ve struggled to stay on track with self-study and are serious about investing time into a live course schedule, 7Sage is one of the stronger options in the market.
