We've rounded up the best current discounts, deals and promos we can find online for the PrepScholar SAT and ACT courses
PrepScholar is a top-rated program for preparing for the SAT and ACT exams. With self-paced, live online, and 1-on-1 tutoring packages, they offer a little something for everyone. In this post, we share the best current deals we can find on their prep courses.
In the above video, we quickly explain the best and biggest ways to save with PrepScholar.
Current PrepScholar Deals
Let’s get straight to the reason why you’re reading this post: discounts and promos. Well, good news. PrepScholar has deals and special promos running pretty much year round, and you can find a discount on their SAT & ACT courses almost every single day of the year.
We track their sales calendar and the various sales offers they have running at any given time, and their standard discount tends to be $50 off. That is essentially their baseline, year-round sales price.
In fact, we actually have a discount link for $50 off right now if you’re ready to buy. Just follow the link below, and it will be applied in cart.
That’s actually a good point to mention. PrepScholar doesn’t typically use a coupon code system—they tend to use links that apply the discount in cart. So make sure to look for links, and be skeptical of codes. They usually don’t work.
To be fair, sometimes around major sales periods (i.e. holidays), we will see them use actual codes. However, for some reason, most of the year, they just have promo links where you’ll see the savings after clicking. So do keep that in mind.
In terms of those holidays sales, they are somewhat sporadic, and it is hard to predict what those discount amounts will be. They generally beat the everyday $50 off promo they have going, but they also tend to focus more on their tutoring packages rather than their more standard prep courses.
Thus, if you’re getting close to a big holiday, such as Cyber Monday or 4th of July, there’s an outside chance you’ll be able to grab an even bigger deal than the typical $50 off.
Now that we’ve discussed the discounts you can expect, I want to cover the features of the PrepScholar courses and the cost of this program. I don’t care to get into the weeds here on what the PrepScholar prep program is actually like, because we do have a separate written review that gets very granular on what we think of PrepScholar as a prep option (see the link below). However, I do want to quickly outline the features you get and provide a couple of high-level thoughts.
As far as options to choose from with PrepScholar, you have three basic packages:
the Complete Online course
the Instructor Led Classes + Complete Online course
the 1-on-1 Tutoring + Complete Online prep course
You can kind of see how these packages play out. The Complete Online course is the basis for each of their three packages.
This is their self-paced study course, which is driven by on demand video and text lessons, as well as assigned practice sets and mock exams. It’s your traditional self-guided prep course, with no live instruction, tutoring, or anything like that.
They give you a study plan, and you work your way through it, watching video lectures, reading text-based lessons, and working assigned practice problems. It’s pretty basic ad straightforward. This course costs $397.
The next course option is their Instructor Led Classes + Complete Online course. As the name implies, this is the same course package, but layers in live classes with a PrepScholar instructor.
Thus, rather than watching video lectures and reading chapters, your teacher delivers the lesson in a live format, which we found to be more engaging. However, you do only get a total of nine (9) hours of live class time, which isn’t a ton compared to other prep providers. This package retails for $895.
Lastly, you can probably guess what the 1-on-1 Tutoring + Complete Online prep package is. It’s the same self-paced prep course, but with four hours of 1-on-1 tutoring time layered in to your schedule. This package starts at $995, but goes up from there if you want more than four hours of tutoring.
Conclusion
I think the key takeaway is that if you do end up going with PrepScholar for your SAT and ACT prep, there’s no doubt you’ll be able to save at least $50 on the course with a discount link. That’s their everyday sale, and you might even be able to get a bigger discount if you can afford to wait it out for a major sales period.
